Assalammualaikum w.b.t

One of our Ramadhan Project this time is to grow our own plant in the house. What is so important for teaching them about planting?

Well, basically children can learn new skills, have fun, play and develop self-confidence by spending time tending plants and growing their own food. Most children enjoy being outdoors and love digging in the soil, getting dirty, creating things and watching plants grow.

Children learn from growing things

children in particular will have lots of fun and gain special benefits. Gardening is educational and develops new skills including:

  • Responsibility – from caring for plants
  • Understanding – as they learn about cause and effect (for example, plants die without water, weeds compete with plants)
  • Self-confidence – from achieving their goals and enjoying the food they have grown
  • Love of nature – a chance to learn about the outdoor environment in a safe and pleasant place
  • Reasoning and discovery – learning about the science of plants, animals, weather, the environment, nutrition and simple construction
  • Physical activity – doing something fun and productive
  • Cooperation – including shared play activity and teamwork
  • Creativity – finding new and exciting ways to grow food
  • Nutrition – learning about where fresh food comes from.
As a muslim, we have Al-Quran as guidance and during this blessed month let's us really study the Quran and try as much as possible to relate any ayah with our activities. ALLAH S.W.T talk to usin Surah Al-An'aam :

And He it is Who sends down water from the cloud, then We bring forth with it buds of all (plants), then We bring forth from it green (foliage) from which We produce grain piled up (in the ear); and of the palm-tree, of the sheaths of it, come forth clusters (of dates) within reach, and gardens of grapes and olives and pomegranates, alike and unlike; behold the fruit of it when it yields the fruit and the ripening of it; most surely there are signs in this for a people who believe. [6-99]
Apart from that, we had learn two of ALLAH S.W.T's names from Asmaul Husna and explained it to my daughter.

The names is :
1) Al-Aleem = The All Knowing
Only ALLAH S.W.T knows what is really inside the soil and seed. How he made it and yes! He knows everything and we don't.

2) Al-Khaliq  = The Creator
ALLAH S.W.T creates everything in this universe. From the biggest until the smallest things. He creates the leaves, root, soil, seed, the color of the plants and extra.

I wrote on the sticky note and put on the vase
We bought the seeds at  Daiso. As cheap as 100yen for 3 packets.

The baby is about to come out

It was an amazing experiments with the children. They will check their plant every morning and getting soooo excited when they see small baby about to come out. :)

This one have their own parent. Each of them must responsible to take care of their plant.

O ALLAH..please make my plant grow healthy and make me become a grateful person. Aaameen.
