Assalammualaikum wbt
Today, I am going to tell you about one of the significant festival during summer season in Japan. Bon Odori (盆踊り), meaning simply Bon
dance is a style of dancing performed during Obon. Originally a Nenbutsu
folk dance to welcome the spirits of the dead, the style of celebration
varies in many aspects from region to region
Usually, the bon dance involves people dancing around a yagura, a high wooden scaffold.
At the end of Obon, floating lanterns are put into rivers, lakes and seas in order to guide
the spirits back into their world. This kind of festival will take place during summer season. From early July to end of August. This time, we're fortunate to observe the festival. The best part is, they make it at our playground just in front of our house. We can just peep through out our window to watch the odori. How near it was!!! :)
They held in two consecutive days from Saturday to Sunday ( Doyobi kara Nichiyoubi made desu). It was from 6:30pm until 9:30pm. Do you know what is the best part I adore and like much about nihonjin? (Japanese).

They finished at 9:30pm and no more music sounds or noise after that.. They respect the people who wants to go to the bed. Cleanliness after the event?. Tip top!!!

Those dancers is wearing a traditional wear called yukata. It is similar as kimono but yukata material is more suitable and comfortable to wear during the summer season |
|
Some dances proceed clockwise, and some dances proceed counter-clockwise
around the yagura. Some dances reverse during the dance, though most do
not. At times, people face the yagura and move towards and away from
it. |
|
Lanterns also can be found at nearby of our house . I mean they hang it to the extend outside from this area. |
